CEO Dr. John Aker has enjoyed a dynamic speaking career around the world and has a unique gift for communicating to a varied audience. John has been a featured speaker at many area houses of worship, women’s conferences, Rotary Clubs and more--he has even addressed The Supreme Soviet of The former Soviet Union. You will enjoy his informative and inspiring approach! Senior Advocate Heidi Smith has a degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Dementia Studies and Palliative Care from The University of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Serving as a specialist in tailoring care to fit the needs of individuals, Heidi is available, along with Dr. John Aker, to speak on topic such as: Children of Aging Parents--Ten Steps To Serenity…Role Reversal….Does Your Mom’s Doctor Know?

Director of Nursing Kim Raymond, RN is also very concerned about the issues many families face as they explore home health care. With more than thirty years of healthcare experience and a Bachelor’s in Nursing from FAU, Kim is invaluable to our AKHHCA Family. Kim and Dr. John Aker often team up to provide insights and education on matters such as Role of Home Care…When The Child Becomes The Parent… Accepting Love Through Home Care.

Health Fairs
AKHHCA often partners with area churches, synagogues, community centers, condominium associations to offer free health fairs. Often partnering with The Aker Kasten Eye Center, we provide FREE Glaucoma and Cataract screenings, plus general health surveys, nutritional and home safety information and more. Civic Involvement
Members of our staff truly want to help others in our community. At present, several of our dedicated workers are exploring membership in reputable charitable organizations. We’ll keep you posted.

Humanitarian Relief
Each of us affirm the responsibility we have in making a difference. Recently one of our staff members participated in the Alzheimer’s Association sponsored Memory Walk to help raise funds for research and education for Alzheimer’s Disease. This is just one example of our family going the extra mile to help others.

From time to time, we have an opportunity to make a difference in a faraway place. Dr. John Aker has been involved in humanitarian efforts for many years, particularly building and refurbishing Geriatric Centers in Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova. Recently, a colleague alerted us to the need for personal items in Haiti after the devastating tropical storms and hurricanes. We were happy to contribute many, many pounds of goods and financial assistance to aid these displaced people.
